I finally got to uploading and activating the plug-in. I know that gossip is everywhere and there’s no way in controlling it to your likings, but there are ways to keep yourself out of it. By blocking my blog to nosy family members, co-workers, and so-called “friends”, I can have a little more privacy.
There are just some things that they don’t need to know about. And when they do, they tend to blow it out of proportion or completely tangent from the original story. I may hear stories every now and then, but it doesn’t mean I enjoy listening. Quite frankly, the less I know the better peace of mind I have. As a matter of fact, if I wanted to know something, I’ll just go straight to the person and ask.
I’m going to play around with the skin of the login form in a bit.

Wow, sorry people couldn’t handle you having your website be public.
Funny, because they’re probably the main ones talking about how they want to “avoid” drama.

@ brittany I was thinking about that earlier today at work. Opening a new LJ, and re-opening this blog to the public.
I only did this because I made a post about sex, and one of my co-workers read it and told everyone at work. Which is really stupid… But I guess people just love to talk about others. And of course, I got a “talk” by one of our assistant managers and told me that I have to remove it or somehow make my blog more private because “if corporate stumbles upon that, they’ll see it as misrepresentation of a BRU associate” blah blah… “and you will most likely be terminated.” = bullshit.
And that same post was seen by one of my Aunts. And she blabbed it to other people in the family, including my Grandma! And now all the men in the family are getting on my case as to “who is this guy?!” and “is he filipino?!”… “he better be!” WTF…

I know what you mean. I, too, have thought about making my website completely private but I can just make certain entries private instead of my whole website. I think it’s absurd for employers to even terminate anyone based on their own PERSONAL website that they pay for. What does your personal life have to do with their employment? That makes absolutely no sense to me. Not many of my family members even get online and even if they do, I don’t even care what they read on my website because I’m grown.

it’s sad that we would need to go so far as to making things private to speak what’s simply on our mind. the thing is everyone shares these similar thoughts, but when someone takes the time to speak about it it’s a major no no.
so i mean it when i say i feel you on this. as of right now, i’m even trying my best to keep this site under radar from my in-laws. i know my mother-in-law has her daughter browse (with her hovering over) through myspace just to see what everyone’s doing.
